It is National Hot Dog Day!

It's also hot and humid in most places, difficult to find a muse or even just get going!    I find the best way to trick myself into getting things done is;

1.  Make a List

2.  Temporarily ignore the List

Allow your mind go to other things like National Hot Dog Day!   Think about being a kid and going to picnics, what was your favorite thing to eat at picnics?  Why is it that a hot dog always tastes so great at events?   Is it the Dog or the Event?

See that?  Your mind is already filled with images and ideas of summer and fun and friends!  Sea Shells, sporting events, sack races, bicycles, drippy popsicles and so much more.   Can you now see those things on ATC's and cards?   How about a summer journal of picnics and laying on the grass watching cloud animals or the starry skies.

NOW go back to your list and see if you are energized to do something, that little vacation may have helped!

Enjoy you week, take momentary vacations and have a hot dog too! (yes they make vegan ones)

  1. I wish I had hot dogs for supper as it is too hot to cook! I do have a question, I promised an Nature ATC to someone and I lost my information. Was it Altered Arts?

 Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
